The Ensemble contemporain 1.618 is dedicated to creation music for performing  new works (instrumental combinations, electroacoustic or mixed).
The esthetic way privileges open forms with innovative writings ; it allows a humanist relationship between the composer and the performers.
This kind of composing contains improvisation and musical theatre in wich intrumental movement and architectural conscience of space have all its sense.

As “music, theatre, video, and dance” would have been too restricting as concepts, Ensemble contemporain 1.618 intertwines the different energies of sound, of words, of images, and of movement to provide writing that aims to change its style regarding its essential principles in relation to an active audience. We are thinking of an audience that is active with its senses, the natural involvement of which originates from an artistic act in its presence.

This contemporary writing that is nurtured from multiple « elsewheres » gives no other transposition than that unfolding in terms of sensations and emotions fully experienced at the time when a relationship with the artists is established.

If make-believe is born in everyone, it is thanks to one’s own perceptions that are heightened by what tends to be achieved at that very moment.

It is in this way that the work develops successfully and recovers its function of the subtle and delicate passage from one human being to another.
